The OrganizersLinda Siguenza - Chairperson
Linda Siguenza is the second time event chair and 4th year parent at Highlands School. Linda grew up in an Eichler in the neighborhood on Brandywine, and moved back into another Eichler with her own family 6 years ago. Her parents still live in the neighborhood as well. Her thoughts and reflections on the event are below. “The idea for the event came from a fundraising brainstorm with Soo Yang, the ticket coordinator from the 2007 event. We both realized that this style of architecture has a genuine following, and we knew that we would definitely pay money to go see a formal home tour from this neighborhood. We were thrilled at the 2007 turn out. People came from as far away as Utah, Southern California, and all around the bay. It was an amazing experience, and I am even more excited about this year’s event.”
Monika Peschke - Home Tour Booklet Publication This is Monika Peschke's second time volunteering for the home tour, and she's a second-year parent at Highlands School . Monika moved with her family from San Francisco to the Highlands in 2005. "We were looking for a home in an architecturally interesting neighborhood with good schools and a sense of community. And it had to be accessible to San Francisco and Silicon Valley . What we found was ideal on all counts." Monika said.
Tricia Schroeter - Logistics
Tricia Schroeter and her family moved into their Highland’s Eichler in 2002. “We knew we wanted an Eichler when we were house hunting and were so thrilled to find the Highlands. I love everything about this neighborhood: the homes, the schools, the rec center and the people. You just don’t find this kind of community spirit in many areas.”
Larry Kang - Webmaster
Larry and his wife have lived in the neighborhood for 15 years and have kids at Highlands and Aragon. “We like the way the Eichler glass wall opens the house to the surrounding space and brings it in. Next to the watershed, we feel like we’re far away from urban sprawl.” Larry was a docent at the 2007 Home Tour and currently maintains the Highlands Elementary School website. |
